Roomie makes finding student housing easier and more accessible by connecting renters and landlords through a simple, swipe-based platform. Our goal is to create a seamless and efficient way to tackle the student housing shortage in the Netherlands.
The challenge
Finding a student room in cities like Amsterdam is extremely difficult due to high demand, limited availability, and fragmented platforms. Many students struggle with long waiting lists, unreliable listings, and complex application processes, making the search frustrating and inefficient.
The solution
Roomie simplifies the housing search with a user-friendly app that works like a dating platform. Students create profiles and swipe through available rooms, while landlords list their spaces and swipe through potential tenants. This central platform fosters quick matches, better communication, and a more accessible housing market for students.
