ROND Amsterdam aims to make a positive impact by embracing a circular approach to fashion, using upcycled materials to create timeless accessories. All with a local supply chain.
The challenge
The challenge we address is the environmental harm caused by fast fashion and leather waste, we upcycle materials such as leather thrown away from furniture factories in the the Netherlands We also tackle the need for inclusive employment by offering work opportunities to individuals with barriers to the labor market, through social ateliers in the Netherlands.
The solution
Our solution is to create high-quality accessories from surplus leather materials, sourced from furniture companies. These materials are transformed into stylish products with the support of social ateliers, providing employment opportunities for individuals with barriers to the labor market. Our approach combines sustainability and inclusivity, and we have successfully validated our idea through the sale of products, initially developed during the Entrepreneurship minor at the University of Amsterdam.
